ToddWorld is an American-French-Irish-Indian-Canadian animated children's TV program created by Todd Parr and Gerry Renert through their California based company SupperTime Entertainment. The show was produced by Mike Young Productions, an award-winning animation studio based in California. The series originally aired on TLC and Discovery Kids in the United States and got DVD releases from Hit Entertainment when the show was still in production. The series continued to air until 2008, with reruns airing on Qubo from April 7, 2014 until its eventual shutdown.
Premise
ToddWorld is a celebration of imagination in a world where everyone is welcome! It's a place where a kid can dance with a porcupine, buy ice cream from a hippo, or eat macaroni and cheese in the bathtub. It’s a world where human beings, animals, and even the occasional alien from outer space can not only live together and play together but talk to each other, too. It’s a world of bright colors, bold lines, and whimsical detail. ToddWorld looks and feels like the world children create and share when they engage in spontaneous imaginative play together. The line between fantasy and reality becomes blurred.
Trivia
- The theme song was sung by William "Smokey" Robinson Jr. (born February 19, 1940), an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and former record executive. Robinson was the founder and frontman of the Motown vocal group the Miracles, for which he was also chief songwriter and producer.
- Qubo airs the show in PAL audio, unlike the original Ready Set Learn airings and DVDs. Similar audio errors happened in the Filmation series, The DaVincibles and Look Kool.
